You Only Go Around Once

He lived on the edge--
He just dared Fate to push him.
He did what he pleased--
He didn't care who was looking.
His life in the passing lane
Became his claim to fame,
He could shame the moon at night--
People said he was burning too bright,

He'd say,"You only go around once
But if you do it right,
Once can be enough."

She lived in a dream
She couldn't wait for the ending.
A waking ideal,
She learned to break without bending.
She moved through life so slow,
Like she had no place to go.
But if she was slow to ignite,
Her only excuse was airtight.

She'd say,"You only go around once
But if you do it right,
Once can be enough."

Bridge:
I can't say what's right for your,
Or you for me.
I've got to believe that's true--
It seems so simple to believe.

I move in my own way--
I look at the world from the middle.
Taking it in keeps me confused
(Just a little).
My chances I calculate,
And I sometimes hesitate,
Risking it all inspite--
Praying for a little foresight.

But I guess you only go around once
But if you do it right,
Once can be enough.
